Angela Wheeler is the Executive Director for Overmountain Trace, ALG Senior’s newest Senior Independent Living located in Elkin, North Carolina scheduled to open Fall 2026. Over the last 10 years, she successfully served as Executive Director at sister communities, Rose Glen Manor in North Wilkesboro and The Landings of Chestnut Grove in Sparta. Angela has worked in healthcare for over 20 years with a diverse background in business administration, clinical and operational management. Her leadership is driven by a genuine passion for serving the residents, their families, and her team. Her goal is to help create a vibrant, welcoming place where residents enjoy independence, connection, and a true sense of belonging—and where families have confidence knowing their loved ones are in caring hands. At Overmountain Trace, she looks forward to building a community defined by hospitality, trust, and a genuine commitment to the people who call it home.
The most rewarding part of Blaire’s role is building relationships with our residents
Blaire is the Assistant Executive Director at The Landings of Chestnut Grove. She has been with The Landings for the past two years. Blaire holds a Bachelor’s degree in Health Services Administration and a Master’s degree in Gerontology. Therefore, she has always known that she was called to work in senior living. The most rewarding part of Blaire’s role is building relationships with our residents and hearing the unique stories they share. She is excited for this new adventure and looks forward to continuing to lead and serve the community.
Crystal loves serving our residents, helping others, and building meaningful connections
Crystal is our Business Office Coordinator and has been part of The Landings of Chestnut Grove team for five years, bringing an incredible 42 years of experience in healthcare. Her career began when her sister helped her get a job as a dietary aide at a local hospital, and she has continued to grow ever since, becoming a Certified Healthcare Access Associate. Crystal loves serving our residents, helping others, and building meaningful connections with the people she cares for. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and attending music events around town, and her favorite quote is, “Love what you do.”

I volunteer as a Christian Counselor in my community with a goal of giving back to others! Jesus is always my reason. With more than 20 years of experience in senior living and healthcare, Sumer Geiser brings a genuine passion for helping others and a special love for seniors to her role as Sales Director. For Sumer, working with residents is much more than a career. Their stories, personalities, and friendships brighten her days, lift her spirits, and give her a strong sense of purpose. Sumer is especially excited to be part of the beginning of a beautiful new chapter for the community and its residents. She loves the opportunity to help create a welcoming, luxurious Independent Living community for adults 55 and older, where relationships and meaningful connections can flourish. A natural relationship builder and self-described “lover of people,” Sumer began her college studies in communications, with a focus on marketing and broadcasting, before continuing her education in the philosophy of psychology. She has carried that interest in communication, relationships, and understanding people throughout her career. Outside of work, family is at the center of Sumer’s world. She treasures time with her mother, son, daughter and son-in-law, and especially her four grandchildren, who proudly know her as “YaYa.” She also volunteers as a Christian counselor in her community, giving back to others and allowing her faith to remain an important part of her life and service. One fun fact about Sumer is that during college, she spent five years appearing on a nationally syndicated radio talk show in the 1990s. When it comes to resident activities, few things make her smile more than a spirited game of balloon volleyball with pool noodles. And if prime rib or shrimp is on the menu, she is probably not far away. One of Sumer’s favorite quotes reflects the positive outlook she brings to both her personal and professional life: “Keep your face always toward the sunshine and shadows will fall behind you.” — Walt Whitman
He believes the residents are the reason we do what we do
Luke Logan is the Sales Manager at The Landings of Chestnut Grove and recently joined the company, beginning his first role in senior living and healthcare. He was drawn to the opportunity to serve an important part of our population while becoming part of a growing and meaningful industry. Luke enjoys nurturing meaningful relationships and getting to know the people around him. Most importantly, he believes the residents are the reason we do what we do, and he brings a genuine desire to learn, grow, and remain teachable each day.
One of my favorite parts of my role is watching residents make new friends
I have been working in healthcare for 28 years, including the past 4 years at The Landings. I always had a passion for caring for others and found great joy in making a difference. One of my favorite parts of my role is watching residents make new friends and building meaningful connections when they come to our community. I love coming in each day and seeing and talking to the residents and getting to know each of them on a personal level. Caring for residents is more than just a job—it is something I truly love and take pride in every day.

Rhonda has worked in healthcare for over 20 years and finds it incredibly rewarding to care for others. She loves helping residents with their daily needs and knowing they appreciate the care, kindness, and love she gives them. Rhonda is also a Certified Activity Director and enjoys creating meaningful experiences and connections with the residents she serves.
He is a talented cook who enjoys creating special meals
John is our Dietary Manager and has been serving our community in this role for four years. He is a talented cook who enjoys creating special meals that our residents love. John has a great personality and can always find a way to make someone laugh, even on a bad day. We are grateful to have someone who brings both great food and a little extra joy to our residents each day!
Benny is a hardworking, hands-on person who enjoys staying busy
Benny has been a part of The Landings of Chestnut Grove for three years. He enjoys helping people and knowing that he can make a difference in someone’s day. Benny especially enjoys the interactions and relationships he has built with the people around him. He has been working in construction and electrical since he was 15 years old and has gained many years of experience along the way. Benny is a hardworking, hands-on person who enjoys staying busy and being there to help whenever he is needed.
